It’s “Flippin’ Friday”!

Welcome back to “Flippin’ Friday”! This is the place to fuel up our junkin’ tanks, get our vintage adrenaline going, and basically awe us with your “flips”.  So if you have had a good flip recently….share it with us in the comment section…you KNOW we’ll read it!!

Last week we had tales of a Tiffany spoon, Franciscan Dishware, 90’s idols, Barbies, vintage perfume, a 400 year old book, Majolica dinner plate and a pair of children’s overalls. Great reads!

In your flip story, let us know what your item was, how much you paid, what you got for it…and any other juicy tidbits that will make us go “Wow!”.

And check out my new “Recent “Flips” page at the top…I’ll keep adding to the excitement!

Hey great Linda! Nice to see you here!

Okay..I’ll get the ball rollin’ on this one.

This past summer I got to an estate sale pretty late…11ish….I was walking around…not much I was interested in. As I was walking through the living room, I looked up on this knick-knack shelf and there was a little delicate 4″ figurine. I have not really dabbled in the world of porcelain or china very much….I’m too much a fumble fingers. But this little figurine was only 1.00…so I took a chance. Turns out is was a PERFECT piece of Dresden. No chips or cracks on the little lace dress…which is unusual in these pieces. Sold it for $100.00 the next week on Ebay.

I come over from Bounty Hunter. Already added some of the stuff you reccommended to my ever growin thrifting list.

One of my best flips, paying $2 for a Brooks Brothers picnic basket complete with the flatware and dishes. I listed it on ebay and it sold for $110 within 24 hours.
Another one a Sargedelos pottery, paid a quarter, sold $24.

I was at a not-so-great yard sale once and saw two large boxes of items on the ground. The gal said it was stuff from her elderly neighbor … donated for her sale. The boxes were dirty inside, but I found these two boxed sets of four Portmeirion wildflower glasses. The glasses were perfect … boxes not so great. I paid $4.00 total for both sets. Each set sold on Ebay for $45-$50 each, total … $95.00.

I picked up two huge desks with credenzas at an office furniture auction. Each set was $7.50! They weren’t the most attractive things, but were still very serviceable. I put an ad in the paper and sold them for $90 and $75 each! I probably could have gotten more, but I wanted to flip them fast.

Hey there! I recently bought two small Royal Doulton Toby mugs at a garage sale for 25 cents each. Some like them were selling on eBay for less than $10 so I decided to put them together on etsy and sold them for $30. I like that eBay & etsy have different vibes. Adding in CraigsList, it’s nice to have the options of where an item would gain me the most profit.
