Seeing Double.

I don’t know what it was about this week…but I kept finding things in two’s. Sometimes together…sometimes at different locations.

Here’s a few of the fun things I got this week:

Two vintage IRMI wooden nursery lamps. The little girl on the swing was only fifty cents. She was stuck in the bottom of a box at a garage sale…what a cutie! The other was at a thrift store.

Of course, this pleasant double surprise…see here for that story.

Two of these…at the same thrift store! See here why these were a great find!

Huge lot of UNCUT wedding gown sewing patterns in a big bag at a thrift store….only 1.50!

Huge lot of books….the larger stack has books worth $20-$100 each. The smaller stack is a set of Civil War books I got for $4.00 at a garage sale…worth$125.00.

Huge lot of Elmo Neighborhood Board books and a huge lot of preschooler DVDS…both totaled $15.00.

Neato “Gooseberry” Pyrex mixing bowl.

I love these things. I’ve had a ton of these go through my hands through the years….this one was a $1.00 at the Goodwill.

Add a couple of Lady Buxton large jewelry boxes (yes…two!), some fun “rusties” for the garden, some American Girl games, a Where’s Waldo sheet set,  and a Black & Decker edger(hooray!)…..and you have my week in junk!

I love this job.

Can you explain the ugly sweater thing? What are people buying them for? To wear or make pillows? And do they actually sell? I’m baffled. Thanks.

NO NO NO! You canNOT find 2 Tight Curls AND Easton Press books in one week!! The thrifting gods are unevenly dispensing the wealth!
Good for you! What town do you live in? It must not be anywhere near me cause I don’t usually find the things you do!! Or I need to get out more. 🙂

Do you mean ugly Xmas sweaters? People buy them for Xmas parties. There are ugly sweater contests.

Hehe…the ugly sweaters sell around the holidays to people who go to “Ugly Christmas Sweater” parties…you should check out some of the doozies on Ebay.

I have a light switch cover that matches the clown lamp you got. It was on my bedroom light as a child, and then was in my nephew’s room until he turned twelve a couple years ago. Precious.
