With the Smurfs movie scheduled to be released next summer, now is the time to start finding all those little blue “Smurfy” items.

Manufacturing companies are probably already knee-deep in blue paint making new Smurf-themed things…so vintage items will be the collector’s choice. These little blue characters started emerging in the 70’s and hit their heyday in the 80’s.

I have already seen in the past month a steady increase in the value of Smurf stuff on Ebay.

Have a good Smurfy junkin’ day!

My mom still has our matching Papa Smurfs that my sister and I got for xmas that we promptly shaved their beards off. I’m guessing they’re not worth too much after that!

My sister and I also gave many a toy a “makeover”…I cringe at what we did to those poor things. Although I did learn that you can’t “feather” Barbie hair…no matter how much you cut it.
