It’s Flippin’ Friday! #9

Whoohoo! Friday is here!

Great flippin’ stories last week! We learned about an Eames era child’s chair, Monkey Pod serving pieces, the book “Twined Knitting”, and the book “David Hicks on Decoration with Fabric”.  Thanks everyone…as usual…fun to read!

Love reading everyone’s flips. Last week I decided to relist a book one more time before it went in my garage sale box. I had listed it several times and had several watchers but no bidders. Timing is everything. The book is a vintage Whitman 1965 The Night Before Christmas. Sold it yesterday for $21.49. I had bought it for 25 cents. Have a 1980s The Night Before Christmas listed now, hoping for a good return on it too. Happy junking!!!!

Nothing big this week, the only thing I was really happy about was a children’s clothing item. A few weekends ago I saw a garage sale on the way to a grocery store with kid’s clothes for 25 cents. I never see kid’s clothes that cheap. Having 3 of my own I picked out everything that looked in really good condition and bought it figuring one of them would wear what doesn’t resell. 😉

One was a red knit sweater dress with hood from baby Gap 3-6 months that I thought would sell well for the holidays. I started it at around $8 and it got bid up to $13. Paid for and shipped. That paid for all the other stuff I got at the garage sale and more. Yeah!

Love reading the flips..and always seem to miss posting one in time!
    This was a recent flip.
I am always on the lookout for Dale of Norway wool nordic style sweaters with the pewter buttons as I know they can be GOOD sellers. Have never found one. Oh well….it’s a ‘bucket list’ item for me.
But I do know that other brands of Norwegian wool sweaters can sell well also so when I saw a brightly colored striped sweater with pewter buttons and the tag “Oleana, The Norwegian Story”, it made me pause in my searching. Sweater was in great shape…not Nordic style but still worth a shot. Paid $3.79.
Went home and did my research. These cardigans are $400 when they are NEW!! Holy schnikeys.
Listed mine with a Buy it Now or Best Offer at $150 based on ebay selling prices and a week or so later got my full asking price from a buyer in Germany!

I love bar carts. I have sold and bought about 6-7 of them now. My latest one was a brass and glass 2 tier rolling bar cart.
I bought it at an estate sale for $35 on Friday, listed it BIN for $190.Got an offer 2 hours later for $99, I countered with $150 and the next morning, I see another buyer buying it at full price.. woohoo
