This “Dooyahavwun?” made me giggle.

When I hear the name Casio, I immediately think of John Candy in “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” trying to sell his watch in exchange for a night’s stay at a motel.  “It’s a Caaaaasio!” he purrs to the motel manager while draping the watch over his arm.

What is REALLY funny is the prices that these retro 80’s calculator watches are bringing these days…WOW! Pulsar, Casio, and Seiko lead the market with these watches, which can command a price of $50.00-$1,000.00.

So paw through those bins of watches you see at every thrift store and scan the glass cabinets. I’m not sure who is buying these….but I bet your “average Joe” isn’t looking for one.

Who knows? Your dilgence may just “add up” to a great find!

Who would have thought? I can’t recall having any Casio to sell at any of my estates sales lately, but I’ll keep my eyes open.

Actually, the news recently reported that terrorists love the Casio watches. They are easy to set bombs off with. (one of the watch signs for a terrorist) I don’t know if this falls into the vintage Casio watches or not. Something to think about!

    • Thanks for the heads up! I just learned a great deal about this…wow! It appears that the retro calculator watches aren’t the ones they were buying…but the Casio waterproof model F91W . That model seemed to be a favorite among them.

I do appreciate you writing that…had no idea.
