Signs are such a big part of our history, especially painted signs. Business owners would often hire sign artists or make their own to advertise their business. Today, you can still find these wonderful signs in antique stores where they are highly coveted.

These DIY miniature signs are reminiscent of those signs that people love. Each of them is digitally made to look like weathered wood that has painted letters. There are many different types of stores and attractions featured on them. They are perfect for a cottage-style dollhouse, miniature beach cottage or roombox, miniature store, or lodge scene.

The best part of all? You can create them with cardstock! Simply print, cut, fold…..and create! Each have a thickness that resembles a wooden board so they add a great authentic touch to your miniature scene.

DIY Miniature Crates

These DIY miniature crates are perfect for decorating a farmhouse style dollhouse, rustic roombox, or a miniature general store!

And the best part? They are made with paper!

In earlier years, crates were very useful for both the company and the customer. These sturdy boxes were used to ship and deliver items so that the products arrived safe and secure. They were a great form of advertising as they passed through many hands either locally or long distance. Because of the sturdiness of the wood construction, customers and shop owners could count on their merchandise arriving in good condition as it traveled. A lot of these crates have made it through the years and are still around. Good craftmanship and the durability of wood kept them in one piece to be enjoyed today.

Each one of these can be made with my DIY miniature crates printables which can be found in my Late Night Coffee Etsy store! Each printable comes with two different size crates with different designs. The graphics on them are vintage-style and some are actual product logos, designs, and names from the late 1800’s. It’s a fun way to add some authenticity to your miniature setting. So easy to make….just print…cut…and create!
